American tenor Michele Angelini graduated in voice and bassoon from The
Ohio State University. A winner of prestigious international awards, he made
his European debut at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro and has performed
on many of the world’s leading stages, including the Royal Opera House,
Teatro Real, Berlin Staatsoper, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and the
Metropolitan Opera in New York. Praised as an artist who "displays a voice
of silken loveliness as well as graceful agility" (Dallas Morning News), he
has taken on major roles in the bel canto repertoire of Rossini, Mozart,
Gluck, Donizetti, and Bellini. His notable successes include Il barbiere
di Siviglia, La Cenerentola, Don Giovanni, Orphée
et Eurydice with Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Rodelinda, Tancredi,
and Il viaggio a Reims. Also active on the concert stage, he has
appeared at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and on tour
with Collegium 1704.
